Mobile Development

In connection with the thematic touristic route development of the Hortobágy and Hajdú landscape, we created descriptions, content, developed an administration system, a mobile application and kiosk applications. With our gamified applications, we tried to bring the Hajdú Heritage closer to the people pf today and introduce the former herding route of the Hungarian gray cattle to a wider audience.

Within the project, a thematic touristic route will be created in Hajdú-Bihar County, where each defining and special location of contemporary animal husbandry (mainly Hungarian gray cattle breeding), the pastoral life associated with it, handicrafts, trade and public administration will be presented with appropriate infrastructure and marketing tools.

Supporting these goals, a mobile application has been developed. The application presents the route itself and the settlements along the route, as well as conveying information about the tradition of cattle breeding and the history of the Hajdú region in an entertaining way, using interactive games.

In the mobile application, we can get a more detailed picture of the history of the settlements along the route, and to get more information about the interesting places, accommodation and restaurants in each settlement. Users can also rate the latter through the application.

Each physical tourist attraction is equipped with 1 kiosk, the development of the software running on these kiosks was also part of the project. These kiosks serve as information points, displaying detailed facts about the location they are placed at, in addition they also have games, similar to the ones in the mobile application. 

Altogether we developed 5 games for each location, 3 of which can be accessed and played in the mobile application and 2 on the kiosks. Users can collect points by completing the games which can be later redeemed for valuable gifts. This way users are encouraged to visit the attractions in person and complete the route.
